Jackson Developmental Soccer League (JDSL)

Mission Statement

Provide opportunities for Jackson area youth soccer players at every level to develop individual skills through providing quality training, professional atmosphere, and fun learning enviroment.

Program Overview

The objective of the Developmental Soccer League is to ignite a passion for the game of soccer in youth players in the Jackson area. The six-week league will focus on teaching players the basic soccer skills through fun activities and small-sided games. The Jackson Developmental Soccer League will be run by area Licensed coaches and Spring Arbor University soccer players and staff. Players will be split up into teams of 4-6 players based on age and abilities and be assigned a coach each week.

Age Groups: Boys and Girls, All levels and abilities.

  • U4/U5: Mighty Mights, 3v3 No Goalkeeper
  • U6/U7: Turbo Tots, 4v4 No Goalkeeper
  • U8/U9: Kickin Kids, 4v4 with Goalkeeper

Highlights

    Players will participate in 30 minutes of individual activities run by Spring Arbor University coaches/players, high school coaches/players, and then play in competitive 3v3 or 4v4 games. There are no league winners/losers to provide positive learning environment focused on developing player's individual skills.

Location and Time

    • All matches will take place at Parkside Middle School Gym (2400 S. Fourth St., Jackson, MI)
    • January 15th, 22nd, 29th, February 5th, 12th, 19th
    • Ages 4 and 5: 2:00pm - 2:50pm
    • Ages 6, 7, 8, and 9: 3:00pm - 3:50pm
    • Cost: Free to those registered in Fall League; $25/player for those registering for Winter Session
  • Spring Season 2012
    • All matches will take place at Marino's Fields (1980 W. Parnell, Jackson, MI)
    • Saturdays 9:00am - 10:00am; April 14th, 21st, 28th, May 5th, 12th, 19th
    • Mondays 5:45pm - 6:30pm; April 16th, 23rd, 30th, May 7th, 14th
    • Cost: Free to those registered for JDSL League Season; $25/player for those registering for just Spring Session.
